Restless legs syndrome
Module created August 2015
Restless legs syndrome (RLS), (it is also known as Willis-Ekbom disease) is a common chronic neurological condition. People affected experience an irresistible urge to move their legs (although the arms can also be affected). The movements are usually related to uncomfortable sensations in the affected limb(s). Symptoms are typically worse in the evenings, at rest, and often lead to poor sleep and associated symptoms related to sleep deprivation.
