Carol Ross (Fibromyalgia Wales) - Introduction

Welcome to this learning resource about fibromyalgia. This is a common condition that affects between 2 and 5% of the population, causing chronic pain that is widespread in distribution throughout the body. Symptoms tend to wax and wane and there may be attendant sleep disturbance, chronic fatigue and mood disorders.

The learning materials are suitable for GPs and other healthcare workers treating patients with fibromyalgia. It aims to use the current evidence base to explore the issues around fibromyalgia, enabling clinicians to more easily diagnose the condition and will offer the user the latest in treatment options.
